Jerry Bladdick will be the first president of the Belleville campus of Lindenwood University. He was chief operating officer of the Belleville campus. As the campus has grown and become a full-service school, Bladdick will continue his work in expanding the campus.
David Tiede will be Luther College’s interim president. He will replace Richard Torgerson who steps down on June 30th. Tiede is president emeritus at Luther Seminary. Tiede’s appointment is for 12 months.
Herzing University Akron’s Dental Assisting programs receives accreditation from the American Dental Association‘s Commission on Dental Accreditation. This will help the graduates to earn the credentials needed for their careers.
Howard Gillman is appointed provost and executive vice chancellor for the University of California Irvine. Gillman will assume responsibility for academic and organizational functions and also advancing the university’s excellence in education.
Alan Marble, president of Crowder College will retire on June 30th. Marble has been president since 2007. Under Marble’s tenure, the Crowder enrollment nearly doubled in six years.
The Mass Communications program at Savannah State University earns re-accreditation. It is one of only two programs in the state of georgia to earn ACEJMC accreditation. It will not have to undergo re-accreditation until 2018.
Cuyahoga Community College appointed Dr. Alex Johnson as its fourth president. He will start in his new position in July. Johnson is currently president of the Community College of Allegheny County.

Dr. Cynthia Griffith becomes vice president for Allied Health at Blinn College. Blinn’s division of Allied Health Sciences offers associate degrees in nursing, dental hygiene, emergency medical services, physical therapist assistant and other programs designed train students for high-demand professions.

Dr. Christopher Blake takes a one year sabbatical after 7 years as president. There are no details about the reasons for the sabbatical. Blake has been instrumental in achieving university designation for Mount Mercy and achieved re-accreditation for the school.

CSU Los Angeles named William A. Covino president. He is the provost and vice president for academic affairs at CSU Fresno. He will succeed President James M. Rosser who is retiring. Covino will start his new position on September 1st.
