Cuesta College retains accreditation
The Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges has removed Cuesta College from show-cause status. It is now in the least severe level of sanction and the college hopes to resolve their remaining issues in the next few months.
Hendrix College president, Dr. J. Timothy Cloyd has retired effective February 15th
Dr. J. Timothy Cloyd, president of Hendrix College, has retired as of February 15th after serving for 12 years. He will return to Hendrix as a professor in the Department of Politics and International Relations after taking a sabbatical. W. Ellis Arnold, III, Executive Vice President and Dean of Advancement, will be Acting President as Hendrix starts its search for a new president.
Benjamin Dunlap will resign as president from Wofford College June 30, 2013
Benjamin “Bernie” Dunlap will resign from his position as president at Wofford College June 30, 2013. He will be moderating seminars in Aspen for the summer, then after a year away, he will return to teach at Wofford.
Shorter University appoints Emily Messer as Vice President of Enrollment Management
Emily Messer, currently the Director of Student Life at Shorter University, has been appointed Vice President of Enrollment Management there. She will also serve as a member of the President’s council.
Dr. Jayne Marie Comstock to become Winthrop University’s 10th president
Winthrop University has chosen Dr. Jayne Marie Comstock as its 10th president. Comstock will succeed Dr. Anthony DiGiorgio who retires this summer. Dr. Comstock, who is on sabbatical from Butler University, is currently director of the Executive Leadership Group for the American Council on Education.
University of Northern Iowa’s next president will be Dr. William N. Ruud
The next president of the University of Northern Iowa will be Dr. William N. Ruud. He is currently the president of Shippensburg University in Pennsylvania. Ruud will assume his new position on June 1st.
Baker University’s president, Dr. Pat Long will retire on June 30, 2014
Dr. Pat Long who has served as president of Baker University for the last 7 years will retire on June 30, 2014. A search for a new president will begin in the near future.
Dr. Bradley Bateman appointed as Randolph College’s 10th president
Dr. Bradley Bateman will be Randolph College’s 10th president effective July 1st. He will succeed John E. Klein who will retire Jun 30. Bateman is currently the provost of Denison University.
The University of Central Florida College of Medicine earns full accreditation
The College of Medicine at the University of Central Florida is now fully accredited by the Liaison Committee on Medical Education. This is good news for the 41 students who enrolled not knowing if the medical school would receive accreditation before they graduated.
Dr. John A. Martin to step down as president of Roberts Wesleyan College and Northeastern Seminary
Dr. John A. Martin, president of Roberts Wesleyan College and Northeastern Seminary, announced on February 11th that he will
step down as president in May 2014. The college’s board of trustees will begin the search for his successor.
Scripps College has appointed Nikki Khurana as assistant vice president of alumnae and parent engagement and The Scripps Fund
Effective February 25th Nikki Khurana joins Scripps College as its assistant president of alumnae and parent engagement and The Scripps Fund. She replaces Emily Rankin who was director of alumnae relations since 2005.
