Appointments
Texas A&M Names Sole Finalist for President
The Board of Regents for Texas A&M has named Dr. Katherine Banks as the finalist for President at the school. Banks is the current Vice Chancellor of Engineering and Dean of Texas A&M College of Engineering.
University of Chicago Announces Next President
Paul Alivisatos has been named the next president at the University of Chicago. Alivisatos is the current Vice Chancellor and Provost at Cal Berkeley. He will succeed Robert J. Zimmer on September 1st, 2021.

Richmond Appoints New President
The Board at the University of Richmond has named Kevin Hallock to become the school’s 11th president. Hallock is the current dean of business at Cornell and will begin his presidency in the Fall of 2021.
Bentley University Names Next President
Dr. Brent Chrite has been announced as the next president at Bentley University. Chrite currently serves as president at Bethune-Cookman University. He will begin his tenure on June 1st 2021.
New President Announced at Carlow
Carlow University has named Kathy Humphrey as the school’s next president. Humphrey, current senior VP for engagement at Pittsburgh, will become Carlow’s 11th president on July 1st.
Carter Named New President at Lawrence University
Laurie A. Carter, current president at Shippensburg College, has been named the 17th president of Lawrence University in Appleton, Wisconsin. Carter will become the school’s first BIPOC president and begins on July 1st.
Interim President Appointed at Guilford
Jim Hood has been announced as interim president at Guilford College. Hood will replace Carol Moore immediately.
LeTourneau University Has New President
Steven D. Mason has been selected to become the 7th president of LeTourneau University. Mason, current provost at LeTourneau, has served the school for the past 15 years and will begin immediately.
Minnesota State Mankato Names Next President
Board of Trustees for the Minnesota State College System has announced that Edward Inch will become the next president of Minnesota State Mankato. Inch Currently serves as provost at Cal State East Bay. He will become the school’s 13th president on July 1st.
Misericordia Appoints New President
The Board at Misericordia University as approved the appointment of Daniel J. Myers as the school’s next president. Myers currently serves as professor and acting chair of sociology at American University. He will begin on July 1st 2021.
Northern Arizona Names President
Dr. Jose Luis Cruz has been announced as the 17th president at Northern Arizona University. Cruz currently serves as executive vice chancellor and provost at CUNY. He will begin as president up final approvement from the Arizona Board of Regents.
New President Announced at Ramapo College
Cindy R. Jebb has been named the 5th president at Ramapo College. Jebb will replace President Peter Mercer, who announced his retirement in September of 2019. She will begin on July 6th 2021.
Saint Mary’s College of California Names President
Richard Plumb has been appointed the 30th president of Saint Mary’s College of California. Plumb currently serves as provost at St. Thomas Minnesota. He will begin on July 1st 2021.
New President Announced at Samford
Beck A. Taylor has been approved to become the 19th president of Samford University. Taylor currently serves as president at Whitworth University. He will begin his tenure on July 1st.
Xavier Names New President
Current president of La Salle University, Colleen M. Hanycz, has been named the next president at Xavier University. Hanycz will begin in June 2021.
SC Upstate Names New Chancellor
The University of South Carolina’s Board has approved the appointment of Bennie L. Harris as the next chancellor of South Carolina Upstate. Harris will begin his position as president on July 1st.
University of Toledo Announces New President
Dr. Gregory Postel has been selected to become the 18th president of The University of Toledo. Postel has been serving as interim president since last July.
Retirements
Northwestern President Announces Retirement
President Morton Schapiro has announced his retirement from Northwestern University. Schapiro has led the school since 2009. He will officially retire in August of 2022.
Ferris State President to Retire
President David L. Eisler has announced his plan to retire in June of 2022. Eisler became FSU’s President in 2003 and said, “Working at Ferris State Uiversity is a privilege, and it has been my honor to serve as president.” A search for the school’s next president will begin in the next few months.
Resignations
Memphis President to Step Down
University of Memphis President David Rudd has announced his plan to step down in 2022. Rudd will continue to teach at the school and said, “As a tenured member of the faculty, I have decided to return to the important work of teaching, scientific research and clinical care I set aide 15 years ago when I transitioned to senior administration.” The university’s board has called a special meeting to discuss the executive search process.
Master’s University President Resigns
Master’s University and Seminary President, Sam Thorn, has resigned from the school. He was the university’s third president form 2019 – February of 2021.
