Aquinas College Announces New President
Dr. Kevin Quinn has been announced as the next president at Aquinas College. Dr. Quinn is currently the dean of business at St. Norbert College in De Pere, Wisconsin. Quinn will take over in July for Dr. Juan Olivarez, who announced his retirement last August.
Baylor Appoints its First Female President
Baylor University has appointed Dr. Linda A. Livingstone, dean at George Washington School of Business, as its 15th president. Livingstone will replace interim President David Garland on June 1st.
New President Named at California Christian College
Dr. Tim Powell has been named the new president of California Cristian College. Dr. Powell has been serving the school as a full-time faculty member since 2011. He will replace Mr. Wendell Walley, who is retiring, in July.
Interim President Decided at Chicago State
Dr. Rachel W. Lindsey has been hired as the interim president at Chicago State University. Lindsey will begin immediately, and serve (at least) until April, 2018. Dr. Lindsey is a former dean of Chicago State’s College of Arts and Sciences.
City Colleges of Chicago Names New Chancellor
The Mayor of Chicago has named Juan Salgado to replace Cheryl Hyman as the chancellor of the City Colleges of Chicago. Hyman was given a vote of no-confidence nearly four months ago by the system’s faculty. Salgado is expected to begin this spring following City Council’s approval.
St. Joseph Decides on New President
The College of St. Joseph has named Mr. Larry Jensen as its full-time president. Jensen had previously served as the school’s interim president.
CSU-Pueblo Announces Next President
Dr. Timothy Mottet has been announced as the next president at Colorado State University-Pueblo. Mottet is currently provost at Northwest Missouri State University. He will take over for Dr. Lesley Di Mare who retires in June.
Dr. JoAnna Schilling to Become President at Cypress College
Dr. JoAnna Schilling will become the next new president of Cypress College. Schilling will begin in July, 2017, following the retirement of Dr. Robert Simpson.
ENMU Selects New President
Eastern New Mexico University has selected Dr. Jeff Elwell as its next president. Dr. Elwell is currently dean of the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Tennessee Chattanooga. Dr. Elwell will take over for Dr. Steven Gamble, who will retire at the end of July.
Fairfield University Names New President
Dr. Mark Nemec, currently a dean at the University of Chicago, has been announced as the next president at Fairfield University. Dr. Nemec will begin in July.
First Female President Named at Germanna CC
Dr. Janet Gullickson will become the first female president in the 47-year history of Germanna Community College. Gullickson is currently the president of Spokane Falls Community College in Washington State. She will take over for current president, Dr. David Sam, who is retiring at the end of June.
Next President of Hobart and William Smith College is an Alumni
Dr. Gregory Vincent has been named the next president of Hobart and William Smith Colleges. Vincent earned his undergrad degree at HWS in 1983. Dr. Vincent will succeed Dr. Mark Gearan, who is stepping down this July.
Holy Cross Names Interim President
Father David Tyson has been named interim president at Holy Cross College in Indiana. He replaces Brother John Page, who is taking a leave of absence. Tyson has served as a Trustee since 2014.
ISU Announces Interim President
Dr. Ben Allen will serve as interim president at Iowa State University upon the departure of Steven Leath in May. Allen previously served the school as a dean, vice president, and provost.
Rutgers-New Brunswick Lands New Chancellor
Dr. Deba Dutta will become the next president of Rutgers University New Brunswick. Dutta is currently the provost at Purdue. He will begin on July 1st, following the retirement of Dr. Richard Edwards.
Sonoma State University President Takes Office
Dr. Judy Sakaki has begun her role as president at Sonoma State University. Sakaki is the seventh president of SSU and the school’s 2nd female president.
Warrick Appointed at Stillman College
The Stillman College Board of Trustees recently approved Dr. Cynthia Warrick to become the school’s next president. Prior to the appointment, Warrick served as Stillman’s interim president. Dr. Warrick will begin her new role immediately.
University of Arizona Approves New President
Dr. Robert Robbins has been approved by The Arizona Board of Regents to a three-year contract as president at the school. Robbins will take over for Dr. Ann Weaver Hart, who announced she will step down on June 1st.
Next Chancellor Named UM-Crookston
The University of Minnesota Crookston has announced its next new president in Dr. Mary Holz-Clause. Clause is currently a dean at Cal Poly. She will begin on July 1st, following the retirement of current president Dr. Fred Wood.
Vermont Technical College Promotes Interim President
Mrs. Patricia Moulton has been tapped as the new president at Vermont Technical College. She previously served as the school’s interim president. Moulton beat out two other finalists for the job.
Washington and Jefferson College Hires New Leader
Dr. John C. Knapp, current president of Hope College, has been selected as the next president at Washington and Jefferson College. Dr. Knapp will succeed Ms. Tori Haring-Smith, who is retiring in July.
New President Named at WSCC
Washington State Community College has named Dr. Vicky Wood as the school’s next president. Dr. Wood is currently the provost at Marion Technical College. She will replace Dr. Bradley Ebersole, who announced he will retire in June.
Western Michigan Approves New President
The Western Michigan University Board has approved the school’s next president in Edward B. Montgomery. Dr. Montgomery is currently the dean at Georgetown’s McCourt School of Public Policy. Montgomery will replace John Dunn, who announced he will be retiring at the end of June.
Western Technical College Appoints Next President
Dr. Roger Stanford has been appointed as the next president at Western Technical College. Standford will replace Dr. Lee Rasch, who retires in June.
William and Mary President to Retire After a Decade of Service
Mr. W. Taylor Reveley has announced that he will retire at the end of next year from the College of William and Mary. Revely said, “Serving as president of a college or university is one of the most challenging but meaningful jobs anyone can possibly have.” Revely has served as president since 2008.
Edmonds CC President Announces Retirement
Dr. Jean Hernandez announced her retirement earlier this month. Hernandez has been president of Edmonds Community College for six years. She plans to leave at the end of 2017.
Henry Ford College President to Retire
Dr. Stanley Jensen will retire at the end of the 2017-2018 fiscal year. Jensen has served Henry Ford College since 2013.
Quinnipiac University President Retiring
The President of Quinnipiac University has announced that he will be retiring at the end of the 2018 academic year. President John Lahey has served the school for the past thirty years.
SUNY Oneonta President Retiring in 2018
Dr. Nancy Kleniewski has announced that she will be retiring in July 2018. Kleniewski is the school’s 7th president. She has served at SUNY Oneonta for the past 10 years.
Chancellor Retiring at UAA
University of Alaska at Anchorage Chancellor Tom Case has announced his retirement. Mr. Case plans to leave at the end of June, 2017. He has served at the school for the past 12 years, 6 of which he was president.
Michigan Tech President to Resign
Dr. Glenn Mroz, President of Michigan Technological University, has announced he will step down from his position of president next year. Mroz said, “For some time now, the university leadership and I have worked to develop a comprehensive plan in anticipation of leadership succession.” Mroz has been president since 2004, and plans to officially step down in June of 2018.
Owens CC President Stepping Down
Dr. Mike Bower has announced that he is leaving as president at Owens Community College. Bower has served the school for five years and plans on resigning in June.
Dr. Krise Announces Resignation from Pacific Lutheran
Dr. Thomas Krise will resign from his position as president at Pacific Lutheran University. Krise has served the school for the past 5 years. He will step down in May.
Maine at Augusta President to Resign
Dr. James Conneely has announced that he will resign as president at the end of the school year. Conneely has served the University of Maine at Augusta since January 2016.
UMass Boston Chancellor Announces Resignation
Dr. Keith Motley has announced his plan to step down on June 30th as Chancellor at UMass Boston. Motley has served as chancellor for the past decade.
