The Medical University of South Carolina and the College of Charleston are looking at a potential merger. Charleston is looking for a more comprehensive research university to compete for new business. Ray Greenberg, president of MUSC stated that they were not reaching their full potential in their current structure.

Brad Martin will be the interim president of The University of Memphis effective July 1st. He will succeed Shirley Raines who retires June 30th. Raines has been president of U of Memphis for 12 years.
Dr. Larry McCullough is retiring from Laurel University at the end of June. During his presidency the enrollment at Laurel increased by 289 percent. Laurel has received a 10-year reaffirmation of its accreditation this year.
Nicholls State University President Stephen T. Hulbert will retire August 1st. He has served as president there for 10 years. His career in higher education has spanned 45 years.
Dr. Kristine D. Duffy, currently vice president of enrollment management at SUNY’s Onondaga Community College, will be SUNY Adirondack’s next president. She begins her duties July 1st. She will succeed Dr. Ronald C. Heacock.
President James F. Barker will retire from Clemson University. He has been president of Clemson for almost 14 years. Barker will continue as president until a new president is appointed.
