Western Colorado University Announces Next President
Western Colorado U. selected William Bradley Baca as its next president. Baca currently serves as Western’s EVP and COO.
New Superintendent/President Chosen at Rio Hondo College
Rio Hondo College has chosen Dr. Marilyn Flores as its new president/superintendent. She will replace retiring Super/President Teresa Dreyfuss.

Rogue Community College Names Future President
Dr. Randy Weber will be Rogue CC’s next president. Weber will succeed Dr. Cathy Kemper-Pelle who retires in June.
Portland Community College Selects New President
Portland CC has selected Dr. Adrien Bennings as president. Bennings is currently serving as president of Kellogg CC.
New President Appointed at Southern Crescent Technical College
Dr. Irvin T. Clark, III has been appointed president of Southern Crescent Tech College. He was formerly VP for economic Development at Georgia Piedmont Tech College.
Mercy College of Health Sciences Names Next President
Mercy College of HS has chosen Dr. Adreain M. Henry as its 4th president. Henry will succeed President Dr. Douglas Fiore who retires at the end of the academic year.

Future President Appointed at Pittsburg State University
Dr. Daniel Shipp is appointed president of Pittsburg State University. He currently serves as VC for Strategic Initiatives at the University of Nebraska Medical Center.
New President Selected at Southern State Community College
Southern State CC has selected Dr. Nicole Roades as its next president. Roades is currently VPAA there and will assume the presidency in July.
Holy Cross College Selects Next President
Dr. Marco Clark will be Holy Cross College’s next president. Clark will be the first president who is not a Holy Cross brother or priest.
Vermont Law School Appoints New President
Vermont Law School has appointed Rodney A. Smolla as its future president. Smolla currently serves as dean and professor at Widener University Delaware Law School.
Future President Named at Davidson College
Dr. Douglas A. Hicks is named president of Davidson College. He replaces current President Dr. Carol Quillen who will step down after 11 years.
College of the Ozarks Announces New President
College of the Ozarks has chosen Dr. Brad Johnson as its next president. Johnson is currently VP of institutional advancement at Southwest Baptist University.
Grace College and Seminary Promotes Advancement VP to President
Dr. Drew Flamm is appointed 7th president of Grace College and Seminary. He will succeed retired President Dr. William Katip in July.
Mercer County Community College Names 7th President
Mercer County CC has named Dr. Deborah Preston as its next president. Preston currently serves as provost/VP at Raritan Valley CC.
A New President is Selected by Piedmont Virginia Community College
Dr. Jean Runyon will become Piedmont Virginia CC’s next president. Runyon comes from Front Range CC where she is VP of the Larimer Campus.
Iowa Lakes Community College Announces Next President
Iowa Lakes CC has named Scott Stokes as its future president. Stokes is currently executive dean of the Estherville Campus there.
Interim President at Christian Brothers University Promoted to President
David L. Archer was appointed permanent president of Christian Brothers U. He has been interim president since November 2021.
Salisbury University Names New President
Salisbury U has named Dr. Carolyn Ringer Lepre as its next president. Lepre is currently the interim president of Radford University.
Fresno City College VP Appointed President
Robert Pimentel was appointed president of Fresno City College. He is currently Fresno’s VP of educational svcs/inst effectiveness.
President of Keystone College Selected to be the Next President of Abraham Baldwin Ag College
Dr. Tracy Brundage has been named president of Abraham Baldwin Ag College. She currently serves as president of Keystone College.
Aquinas College in Michigan Names 9th President
Aquinas College has chosen Dr. Alicia Cordoba as its new president. She will replace current President Kevin Quinn who will not seek another term leading the college.
Interim President Chosen at Sul Ross State University
Dr. Carlos Hernandez has been appointed interim president of Sul Ross State U. He is currently SVP and CFO at Sam Houston State University.
Shippensburg University Selects New President
Shippensburg Interim President Dr. Charles Patterson is named to the position permanently. Patterson has been the interim there since June 2021.
New President Selected at Wesleyan College in Georgia
Wesleyan College has appointed Meaghan Blight as its next president. Blight currently serves as an administrator for a Canadian college.
University of Southern Maine Appoints 14th President
Dr. Jacqueline Edmondson is named 14th president of the University of Southern Maine. She currently serves as chancellor and CAO of Penn State Greater Allegheny.
Amherst College Names New President
Amherst College has appointed Dr. Michael Elliott as its next president. Elliott succeeds Dr. Carolyn (Biddy) Martin who has been president at Amherst since 2011.
Elon U. Dean Named 8th President of Dillard University
Dillard University has appointed Dr. Rochelle Ford as the next president. Ford will succeed Dr. Walter Kimbrough in July.
Ripon College Selects New President
Dr. Victoria Folse will be Ripon’s new president. She is currently chair of the School of Nursing at Illinois Wesleyan U.
South Carolina State U. Names Permanent President
SCSU has named Alexander Conyers as its next president. Conyers has been interim president there since August 2021.
New Chancellor Elected by the University of North Carolina Wilmington
Dr. Aswani K. Volety has been named chancellor of UNC Wilmington. He will replace Chancellor Jose V. Sartarelli who retires at the end of June.
Trinity University in Texas Selects Next President
Trinity U. has selected Dr. Vanessa Beasley as its 20th president. Beasley will replace Dr. Danny Anderson who retired at the end of May.
Interim President Appointed by Rosemont College
Jim Cawley has been appointed interim president of Rosemont College. He succeeds President Dr. Jayson Boyers who has resigned.
New President Appointed at Oregon State University
Oregon State names Jayathi Y. Murphy as its next president. Murphy currently serves as UCLA’s dean of engineering and applied sciences.
Purdue University Names Next President
Purdue University has named Dr. Mung Chiang as its next president. Chiang is currently serving as Purdue’s dean of engineering and VP for strategic initiatives.
Colorado State University Selects Interim President
Dr. Rick Miranda has been selected as Colorado State U.’s interim president. He will succeed Joyce McConnell who steps down at the end of June.
University of Portland Appoints 1st Lay President
U of Portland has named Dr. Robert Kelly as its 21st president. Kelly is currently VP and special assistant to the president at Loyola U. in Maryland.
New President Selected at Western Oregon University
Western Oregon U. appoints Dr. Jesse Peters as its next president. Peters currently serves as dean of arts and sciences at Ft. Lewis College in Colorado.
Virginia Community College System to Launch New Search for Next Chancellor
Virginia CC System has selected Dr. Sharon Morrissey as interim president while a new search begins for the next chancellor. Morrissey will replace Chancellor Glenn DuBois who is retiring after 21 years at the helm of VCCS.
New President Named at Ulster County CC
Dr. Alison Buckley has been selected as Ulster County CC’s 7th president. She will succeed President Dr. Alan P. Roberts when he retires at the end of July.
Stephen F. Austin State University Appoints Interim President
SFA appointed Dr. Steve Westbrook as interim president. He is replacing former President Dr. Scott Gordon who stepped down in April.
Wagner College’s Interim President Promoted to Permanent Position
Angelo Araimo has been named Wagner’s 20th president. He has been serving as interim president there since October 2021.
Mesa Community College Appoints a New President
Mesa CC has appointed Dr. Tammy Robinson as its next president. She has been MCC’s interim president since February 2020.
New Chancellor Selected by the University of Massachusetts Lowell
Dr. Julie Chen is selected as UMass Lowell’s next chancellor. Chen will succeed Chancellor Jacquie Moloney who retires at the end of the academic year.
Lone Star College Names New LSC-CyFair President
The Lone Star College System has named Dr. Valerie Jones as the president of LSC-CyFair. Dr. Jones has been serving as Lone Star’s Sr AVP of academic affairs.
10th President Named at Joliet Junior College
Joliet Junior College has named Dr. Clyne G.H. Namuo as its 10th president. Namuo succeeds Dr. Judy Mitchell who will retire at the end of August.
University of New Mexico-Los Alamos Selects Chancellor
Dr. Mike Holtzclaw will be UNM-Los Alamos’ next chancellor. He currently serves as VP of instruction and acting VP of student services at the College of San Mateo.
Kennebec Valley CC Acting President Appointed to Position Permanently
Acting President Karen Normandin has been appointed to the position permanently at Kennebec Valley CC. Ms. Normandin has been with KVCC for over 30 years.
The Next President of Front Range CC Has Been Selected
Front Range CC has selected Dr. Colleen Simpson as its next president. Dr. Simpson is currently VP of student svcs/regional learning ctrs at Northeast Wisconsin Tech College.
DePaul University Names 13th President
Dr. Robert L. Manuel is named 13th president of DePaul University. He succeeds current President Dr. A. Gabriel Esteban who steps down at the end of June.
New President Selected at Fresno Pacific University
Fresno Pacific selects Dr. Andre Stephens as president. Stephens is currently VP for student development at Biola University.
SUNY BOT Appoints Next President of SUNY at New Paltz
Dr. Darrell P. Wheeler has been appointed president of SUNY at New Paltz. He will succeed retiring President Dr. Donald P. Christian.
University of Wisconsin-Madison Names Next Chancellor
UW-Madison named Dr. Jennifer L. Mnookin as its next chancellor. She will succeed current Chancellor Dr. Rebecca Blank in August.
New England College President Appointed NEC Chancellor
NEC has appointed its president, Dr. Michele Perkins, as chancellor. Current Provost and CAO Dr. Wayne L. Lesperance, Jr. has been chosen as interim president.
New President Named at Eastern Maine Community College
Liz Russell has been named president of Eastern Maine CC. She is currently VP of academic affairs there.
University of Tennessee Southern Selects Interim Chancellor
UT Southern has selected Linda C. Martin as its interim chancellor. She will replace retiring Chancellor Mark La Branche in July.
New President Announced at Tennessee Wesleyan University
TWU names Dr. Tyler Forrest as its next president. Dr. Forrest is currently VC for finance and administration at the Univ. of Tennessee at Chattanooga.
San Diego Mesa College Appoints Next President
Dr. Ashanti Hands has been appointed San Diego Mesa’s next president. She will succeed President Dr. Pam Lester who retires at the end of June.
New Mexico Junior College Announces New President
NM Junior College has chosen Dr. Derek Moore to be its next president. Moore is currently VP for student affairs at South Arkansas Community College.
Texas A&M University-Kingsville Confirms Incoming President
Dr. Robert H. Vela, Jr. has been confirmed as Texas A&M U.-Kingsville’s 22nd president. He previously served as president of San Antonio College.
Hartwick College Selects 11th President
Darren Reisberg has been appointed the 11th president of Hartwick College. He will succeed retiring President Dr. Margaret Drugovich in August.
Eckerd College Appoints Interim President
Eckerd College has appointed Dr. James Annarelli as interim president. Annarelli is currently Eckerd’s VP for student life and dean of students.
New President Announced at Greenfield Community College
Dr. Michelle Schutt has been named Greenfield CC’s 11th president. She replaces Interim President Dr. Richard Hooper.
Cleveland State Community College Has a New President
Dr. Ty A. Stone has been appointed Cleveland CC’s next president. Stone succeeds retiring President Dr. Bill Seymour.
New President Appointed at Allen Community College
Allen CC has selected Dr. Bruce Moses as its new president. Moses replaces President John Masterson who retires at the end of the academic year.
Resignations
Harvard University President to Step Down in 2023
Lawrence S. Bacow, chancellor of Harvard University, will resign in June 2023. He will have been in this position for 5 years when he steps down.
University of Pittsburgh Chancellor to Step Down
Pitt Chancellor Dr. Patrick Gallagher will step down in the summer of 2023. He plans to join the faculty as a professor.
Fairmont State University Terminates President’s Contract
Fairmont State has terminated President Dr Mirta Martin’s contract. Diana Phillips, provost and VPAA at Amherst, will be acting president.
The Chancellor of Seattle Colleges to Step Down
Seattle Colleges Chancellor Dr. Shouan Pan will step down in August. Pan has been the system chancellor there since 2016.
Bowdoin College President to Step Down Next Year
Bowdoin President Dr. Clayton Rose announces his departure in June 2023. He has been president there for 7 years.
University of Phoenix President Resigns
President George Burnett has resigned from U of Phoenix. The CFO there, Chris Lynne, has been chosen as interim president.
President of Rockford University to Step Down
President Dr. Eric Fulcomer announced he will step down from Rockford U. in December. He is taking a position as president of the Wisconsin Assn. of Independent Colleges and Universities.
Eckerd College President Will Step Down this Summer
President Dr. Damian J. Fernandez will step down after 2 years in office. An interim president has not been appointed at this time.
Snow College Announces President’s Resignation
Snow College President Dr. Bradley Cook will step down from his position in July. He has accepted the presidency of the American University of Bahrain in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
President of New York University to Step Down
President Andrew Hamilton announced he will step down as president in June 2023. After a sabbatical he will return as a professor in the chemistry department.
President of Columbia University in the City of NY to Resign in 2023
President Lee Bollinger of Columbia University will step down in June 2023. He plans to continue teaching and doing research full-time at Columbia.
Florida Atlantic University President to Step Down
Florida Atlantic U. President John Kelly will step down at the end of the academic year. He will then become FAU’s president emeritus. An interim president has not been chosen at this time.
President of New Jersey City University Resigns
President Dr. Sue Henderson resigns from New Jersey City U. in July. NJCU has named Jason Kroll as acting president.
Western Connecticut State University President Steps Down
WCSU President Dr. John Clark resigns in July. Dr. Paul Beran will become WCSU’s interim president.
Retirements
Hendrix College President to Retire
Hendrix College President W. Ellis Arnold, III will retire in June 2023. His retirement will conclude a 33-year career in education leadership, including 17 years as a president.
U of Massachusetts Amherst Chancellor to Retire
UMass Amherst Chancellor Dr. Kumble Subbaswamy will retire at the end of June 2023. He has been chancellor there since July 2012.
Washburn University President to Retire
Washburn University President Jerry Farley will retire after more than 25 years in office. In September Farley will become Washburn’s president emeritus.
President of Manhattanville College to Retire
Manhattanville College President Dr. Michael E. Geisler will retire at the end of June. Dr. Louise Feroe has been selected as interim president.
Trine University President Announces His Retirement
Trine U.’s President Dr. Earl D. Brooks, II will resign in May 2023. He will have served as Trine’s president for 23 years.
Medaille University President Announces Retirement
Medaille U. President Dr. Kenneth Macur retires in June. Dr. Lori V. Quigley has been appointed interim president there, effective in June.
