Appointments
American College of Education Names New President
Geordie Hyland has been named president of the American College of Education. He replaces former president Dr. Shawntel Landry.
Fuller Theological Seminary Selects its 6th President
Dr. David Emmanuel Goatley will be Fuller Seminary’s new president in January 2023. Dr. Goatley will be Fuller’s first Black president.

Smith College Announces Selection of its Next President
Smith College has selected Sarah Willie-LeBreton as its next president. She currently serves as provost and dean of the faculty at Swarthmore College.
A New Chancellor is Chosen at the State University System of Florida
Mr. Ray Rodrigues will be the new chancellor of the State University System of Florida. He replaces Marshall M Criser, III who has served as chancellor since 2014.
Blackfeet Community College Names Next President
Blackfeet CC has named Dr. Brad Hall as its next president. Dr. Hall previously served as University of Montana’s first Tribal Outreach Specialist.
Oregon State University Appoints 16th President
Dr. Jayathi Y. Murthy will be OSU’s 16th president. She previously served as dean at UCLA’s School of Engineering and Applied Science.
Livingstone College Names Next President
Dr. Anthony J. Davis has been named president of Livingstone College. Davis previously served there as SVP of advancement and COO.
New President Chosen at Northern Michigan University
Northern Michigan University has announced Brock Tessman as its future president. Brockman was previously deputy commissioner of higher education for the Montana University System.
Florida Atlantic University Has Selected an Interim President
Stacy Volnick will be Florida Atlantic’s new interim president. She will replace Dr. John Kelly who steps down at the end of the year.
Allegheny College Names Acting President
Allegheny College has appointed former provost and dean of the college, Dr. Ron Cole, as acting president. He succeeds Dr. Hilary Link who resigned this month.
Interim President of the University of Connecticut Named to Post Permanently
Radenka Maric has been named the 17th president of UConn. She has been serving as interim president there since February.
The University of Alabama in Huntsville Appoints Next President
UAH interim President Dr. Charles L. Karr has been promoted to the role permanently. He retired as president of the University of Alabama last year.
A New President Has Been Chosen at Fayetteville Technical CC
Fayetteville Tech CC has chosen Dr. Mark A. Sorrells as president. Sorrells is currently the SVP for academic and student affairs.
The University of North Texas Health Science Center at Fort Worth Names 7th President
Dr. Sylvia Trent-Adams is the new president of the University of North Texas HSC at Fort Worth. She succeeds Dr. Michael Williams who is now chancellor of the UNT System.
Lamar Institute of Technology Appoints New President
Lamar Inst. of Tech. has named Dr. Sidney E. Valentine as its next president. Valentine was previously chief academic & student officer at South Florida State College.
Resignations
Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary President Resigns
Adam Greenway, president of Southern Seminary, has resigned. He has accepted a position with the International Mission Board (IMB).
Retirements
Boston University President to Retire Next Year
Boston University President Robert A. Brown will retire at the end of the school year. He has been president there since 2005.
Stillman College President Announces Her Retirement
Dr. Cynthia Warrick, Stillman’s first woman president, will retire in June 2023. Warrick has served as president at Stillman for the last five years.
Riverland Community College’s President to Retire in 2023
President Adenuga Atewologun has announced his retirement from Riverland CC. A presidential search for the next president will start immediately.
President of Curry College Will Retire in Summer of 2023
Curry College President Kenneth K Quigley, Jr. will retire next summer. Quigley has been president there since 1996.
