Appointments
Austin Peay Names New President
Michael Licari has been named the 11th president at Austin Peay State University. Licari was approved by the board of trustees on December 21st. Licari previously served as provost at Indiana State University
Next President Announced at Central Washington
Central Washington University has named James Wohlpart as its next president. Wohlpart currently serves as provost at Northern Iowa. He will begin his term on July 31st.

Colorado College Appoints New President
The board at Colorado College as announced that L. Song Richards will become the school’s next president. Richards is the current dean of UC Irvine’s school of Law. She will become CC’s 14th president on July 1st and succeeds President Jill Tiefenthaler.
ECU Names Next Chancellor
Dr. Philip G. Rogers has been announced as the next chancellor at East Carolina University. Rogers will begin as ECU’s 12th chancellor on March 15th.
Interim President Appointed at Flagler College
John Delaney, former Jacksonville Mayor, has been appointed interim chancellor at Flagler College. Delaney will begin his tenure in July and will replace Joseph Joyner, who retired last November.
Guttman CC Names New President
The SUNY Board of Trustees has selected Larry D. Johnson to become the next president of Guttman CC. Johnson is the current president at Phoenix College, a public CC in Arizona. He will begin on July 1st. 2021.
Dr. Susan Poser Appointed President at Hofstra
The board at Hofstra University has approved that Dr. Susan Poser will become the school’s next president. Poser currently serves as provost and vice chancellor for academics at the University of Illinois Chicago. She will become the schools first female president on August 1st.
Lehman College Names Next President
Fernando Delgado has been selected as the next leader at Lehman College in the Bronx. Delgado is the current executive vice chancellor for academic affairs at the University of Minnesota Duluth. He will begin at Lehman on July 1st 2021.
North Carolina CC System Elects New President
Thomas Stith III has been selected by the State Board of Community Colleges to lead the NC Community College System. Stith said, “My vision for the North Carolina Community College System is guided by the principle that education translates into opportunity.” He began his tenure on January 11th.
Plumb Named Next President at Saint Mary’s College
Richard Plumb will become Saint Mary’s College’s 30th president on July 1st. He currently serves as provost at the University of St. Thomas in Minnesota. Plumb will replace James Donahue, who announced his retirement at the end of this academic year.
19th President Announced at St. Lawrence University
Trustees have approved Kathryn A Morris to become the next president at St. Lawrence University. Morris currently serves as provost at Butler University. She will begin on July 1st 2021.
Interim President Named at Texas A&M
John L. Junkins, current engineer professor and director of the Hagler Institute, has been appointed interim president at Texas A&M. Junkins will serve until a presidential search is finished.
UMass Dartmouth Announces Interim Chancellor
Mark Fuller has been announced the interim chancellor at UMass Dartmouth. Fuller previously served as vice chancellor for advancement at UMass Amherst. He began as interim president on January 19th.
New President Selected for the University of Maryland Global Campus
Gregory Fowler has been appointed the new leader of University of Maryland Global Campus. Fowler previously served as president at Southern New Hampshire University’s Global Campus. He will begin on January 4th.
Xavier Names New President
Current president of La Salle University, Colleen M. Hanycz, has been named the next president at Xavier University. Hanycz will begin in June 2021.
Wake Forest Names Next President
The board of trustees at Wake Forest University has named Susan R. Wente as the school’s next president. Wente, current provost at Vanderbilt University, will become Wake’s 14th president. Her tenure will begin on July 1st of this year.
Belmont University Announces New Pressident
Dr. L. Gregory Jones has been appointed as the next president at Belmont University. Dr. Jones currently serves as the dean of Duke’s Divinity School. He will succeed Dr. Bob Fisher, who is retiring, on June 1st, 2021.

President Appointed at Greenville University
Suzanne Davis has been appointed by the Greenville University Board of Trustees to become the school’s next president. Davis has served as interim president since May of 2020, after the resignation of Ivan Filby.
New Year, New President at Holy Cross
Current Boston College Law Dean, Vincent Rougeau, has been selected to become the next president at Holy Cross University. Rougeau will begin his tenure on July 1st of this year.
Knox College Announces New President
Trustees at Knox College have approved the appointment of Andrew McGadney as the school’s 20th president. McGadney currently serves as the VP and dean of student advancement at Colby College. He will replace Teresa Amott, who is retiring, on July 1st.
Olivet Names Next President
Current president of Bethel University, Dr. Gregg Chenoweth, has been announced as the next president at Olivet Nazarene University. He will begin his role on June 1st, replacing Dr. John C. Bowling, who announced his retirement in August of 2019.
President Appointed at Southern University at New Orleans.
Board of supervisors at Southern University have approved the appointment of James Ammons Jr. as the school’s permanent chancellor. Ammons Jr. has served as interim chancellor since November of 2019. He will begin immediately.
St. Augustine University Names President
Dr. Christine McPhail has been appointed the 13th president of St. Augustine University in Raleigh, NC. McPhail will replace his widow, Dr. Irving McPhail, who passed away in October.
Retirements
Hampton University President to Retire
William R. Harvey has announced his plans to retire in June of 2022. Harvey has served the school for more than four decades.
Georgia System Chancellor to Retire
Steve Wrigley will retire after serving as the University System of Georgia’s Chancellor since 2017. Wrigley said, “It has been a great privilege and honor to serve the citizens of Georgia.” He will leave his post on July 1st.
Chestnut Hill President Retiring
Sister Carol Jean Vale has announced her plans to retire in June of 2022. Vale has served as Chestnut Hill’s president for the past 30 years. The school will conduct a national search for her replacement.
President Retiring at Colorado Mesa
President Tim Foster has announced his plans to retire from Colorado Mesa University on June 30th, 2021. Foster has led the school since March of 2004.
Ohio Northern University President to Retire
President Daniel Dibiasio has announced his plan to retire effective June 30th, 2022. Dibiasio has served the school since August 2011. A national search will be conducted by the board of trustees immediately.
Resignations
University of Utah President Resigns
President Ruth Watkins has announced her plan to step down as president from the University of Utah. Watkins began her tenure in April of 2018 and will depart in April of 2021.
Lipscomb University President to Step Down
President Randolph Lowry has announced his plans to transition from president to a chancellor role. Lowry has led the school for the past 16 years. His transition will begin this summer.
