Appointments

Louisville Announces New President

The University of Louisville has named Dr. Neeli Bendapudi as the institution’s next president. Dr. Bendapudi has served as provost at Kansas University for the last seven years. She will begin her tenure as Louisville’s first female president in May.

President Named at Delaware College of Art and Design

Ms. Jean G. Dahlgren has been elected as the new president of Delware CAD. Dahlgren will replace interim president, John C. Hawkins, on August 1^st. Ms. Dahlgren currently serves as dean of undergraduate programs at Sage College of Albany.

New President Announced at Edward Waters College

Dr. Zachary Faison Jr. has been named the new president of Edward Waters College in Jacksonville, Fl. Faison will take over for Dr. Nat Glover, who announced he was stepping down earlier this year. Dr. Faison will become the 150-year-old HBCU’s 30^th president.

Hampshire College Appoints New President

Dr. Miriam E. Nelson has been named the next president of Hampshire College. Dr. Nelson is currently deputy director of the Sustainability Institute at the University of New Hampshire, and previously served as a longtime scholar at Tufts University. She will replace Dr. Jonathan Lash in July.

New President at Michigan Tech

Michigan Technological University officials have announced that Dr. Richard Koubek will become the school’s 10^th president. Koubek will replace Dr. Glenn Mroz, who has served as president for the last 14 years, on July 1^st.

Millersville University Taps New President

Dr. Daniel A. Wubah will become Millersville University’s next president. Wubah will replace John Anderson, who is retiring after serving for the past 5 years. Dr. Wubah will begin on July 1^st.

21^st President Announced at Otterbein

Dr. John Comerford has been selected to become the next president of Otterbein University. Comerford currently serves as president of Blackburn College in Illinois. He will begin on July 1^st.

Weber State President Accepts Role at Salisbury

President of Weber State University, Charles Wight, has been announced as the next president at Salisbury University in Maryland. Wight has been at Weber State for the past 5 years and will begin at Salisbury on July 1^st.

The College of New Jersey Announces Next President

Dr. Kathryn A. Foster has been appointed the 16^th president of The College of New Jersey in New Jersey. Foster currently serves as president of the University of Maine at Farmington. She will begin her tenure at TCNJ in July.

Board Announces Interim President at Akron

Dr. John C. Green has been selected become interim president at the University of Akron. Dr. Green is currently dean of the school’s arts and sciences college. He will begin immediately.

New Hampshire Selects Next President

The University of New Hampshire has selected Dr. James Dean Jr. to become the school’s next president. Dr. Dean is a former provost at UNC Chapel Hill. He will become the school’s 20^th president on June 30^th and replaces President Mark Huddleston who announced his retirement.

Northern Colorado Picks New President

Dr. Andrew Feinstein has been selected by the Northern Colorado Board of Trustees to become the university’s new president. Feinstein is currently serving as San Jose State’s provost. He will replace current president, Kay Norton, who is retiring this summer.

Whittier College Selects New President

Current dean of the College of Business at San Francisco State, Dr. Linda Oubre, has been selected as the new president of Whittier College. She will take over for Dr. Sharon Herzberger who announced she will retire at the end of June after 13 years as president.

Vassar College Announces New President

Dr. Elizabeth Howe Bradley has been named Vassar College’s next president. She is currently a public health scholar at Yale. Bradley will start July 1^st, and take over for Interim President: Johnathan Chenette.

Retirements

Queens University President Retiring

Dr. Pamela Davies, president of Queens University of Charlotte, has announced that she will retire after serving the school for the past 16 years. Davies plans to leave at the end of the next academic year upon the finding of a successor.

San Jose/Evergreen CC District Chancellor Announces Retirement

Dr. Deborah Budd plans to retire at the end of the 2018 academic year. Bud has served as chancellor of San Jose – Evergreen Community College District since 2015. An interim chancellor has been selected in Dr. Byron Clift Breland, the current president of San Jose City College.

Southern Indiana President Retiring

Dr. Linda Bennett has announced that she will retire on June 30th after nine years as president. She will be succeeded by Dr. Rondal S Rochon, current provost of USI.

Resignations

Crowder College President Resigns

Dr. Jennifer Methvin has announced her resignation from Crowder College. Methvin is leaving the school to become the next chancellor of Arkansas State University, where she will begin her tenure in July.

President Announces Resignation at Hobart and William Smith

Dr. Gregory J. Vincent has announced that he will resign as president of Hobart and William Smith Colleges immediately. Vincent is being investigated for possibly plagiarize his doctorate dissertation while studying at Penn. In 2004. Dr. Pat Mcguire has been named interim president at the school until a successor is chosen.

Appointments

Cal State Bakersfield Names New President

Dr. Lynette Zelezny has been named by the California State University Board of Trustees the next president of Cal State Bakersfield. Zelezny currently serves as provost at Fresno State University. She will begin her tenure in June of this year.

New President Announced at Carnegie Mellon

Carnegie Mellon has announced that Dr. Farnam Jahanian will become the school’s 10^th president. Dr. Jahanian has served the last two years as CMU’s interim president. His appointment is immediate, with a fall inauguration scheduled.

Coppersmith to Become President of Chesapeake College

Chesapeake College has named Dr. Clifford P. Coppersmith as the school’s next president. Coppersmith formerly served as dean of City College in Billings Montana. He will begin his post at the end of May.

Edmonds CC Names Next President

Dr. Amit Singh has been announced as the next president of Edmonds Community College outside of Seattle. Singh currently serves as provost of Clark State Community College. He will replace former Edmonds CC president, Jean Hernandez, who retired on December 31^st. Dr. Singh begins on June 25^th.

Lake Superior State Announces New President

Dr. Rodney S. Hanley will be appointed president of Lake Superior State on July 1^st. Hanley is currently provost and VP for academic affairs at Fisk University. Dr. Hanley succeeds Peter Mitchell, who has been interim president at Lake Superior since last July.

Board Selects New President at Lincoln University

Lincoln University’s Board of Curators has selected Dr. Jerald Woolfolk to become the Missouri school’s next president. Woolfolk is currently vice president for student affairs and enrollment at SUNY Oswego. Dr. Woolfolk will begin her tenure this May.

Floyd in as President at Mars Hill University

Dr. Tony Floyd has been appointed the 22^nd president of Mars Hill University in North Carolina. Floyd Currently serves as Coker College’s Executive Vice President. He will begin on June 1^st.

Minnesota State College System Picks President

The Board of Trustees of Minnesota State Colleges and Universities will stay in-house for the systems premier position. Dr. Devinder Malhotra, current interim chancellor, has been promoted to the position permanently. Malhotra has served as interim chancellor since August of 2017 and holds a doctorate from Kansas University.

New Chancellor Named at Montana State-Billings

Dr. Dan Edelman has been selected by a search committee to become the next president of Montana state at Billings. Edelman currently serves as the VP for administration and CFO at the University of North Texas Dallas. Dr. Edelman will begin on May 7^th and replaces Interim President Larsen.

First Female President Named at Oklahoma City University

Martha Burger has been announced as the next president of Oklahoma City University. Burger will become the school’s first female president after President Robert Henry retires in June.

Dr. Caro Announced as President at Peirce College

Dr. Mary Ellen Caro will begin come the first female president and CEO of Peirce College in Philadelphia. Caro will take over for Dr. James Mergiotti who announced his plans to retire on April 16^th. She will be the school’s eighth president.

New President Announced at Slippery Rock

Current provost of Georgian Court University in Lakewood, NJ, Dr. William J. Behre will become the next president of Slippery Rock University in Pennsylvania. Behre will replace Dr. Cheryl Norton who retired as president last June. He begins his tenure in July.

Tenth President Announced at the University of Bridgeport

Dr. Laura Trombley, current president of the Huntington Library Art Collection, has been named the next president of the University of Bridgeport. Trombley is also president emerita of Pitzer College. She will begin her role as president this summer.

Williams College Appoints New President

Dr. Maude S. Mandel has been announced as the 18th president of Williams College in Massachusetts. Mandel currently serves as dean at Brown University. She will succeed Protik Majumder, who has served as interim president since the beginning of the year. Dr. Mandel will begin her tenure on July 1^st.

Retirements

Dr. John Hitt Retiring from Central Florida, Replacement Found

Dr. John Hitt will retire from the University of Central Florida after 26 years as president. Hitt will be replaced by Dr. Dale A. Whittaker in July. Whitaker currently serves as provost at UCF.

Retirement Announced at Grand Valley State

Dr. Thomas J. Haas has announced that he will retire in June of 2019. Haas has served as Grand Valley State President for the past 12 years. He said, “It’s the right time to announce my retirement, but let me assure everyone, I’m as excited to come to work at Grand Valley as I’ve ever been.” A special meeting was immediately called by The Board of Trustees to begin a search for the school’s next president.

Pepperdine President Stepping Down

Dr. Andrew K. Benton, the longest serving president in Pepperdine’s history, has announced that he will retire at the end of the 2018-19 academic year. Benton said, “This is a significant change that, while difficult, we believe comes at just the right time – for Pepperdine, for our students, and for us.”

SUNY Purchase President Announces Retirement

Purchase College President Thomas J. Schwarz has announced that he will retire next June. Schwarz has served as president of the school for the past 17 years. Schwarz will remain on Purchase’s board after retirement.

Resignations

Edinboro University President Resigns

Dr. Fred Walker has resigned as president of Edinboro University of Pennsylvania. Walker’s resignation will make 6 presidents in the last 11 years at the school. An interim president has been chosen in provost Dr. Michael Hannan.

Harvard Names Next President

Harvard has announced that its next president will be former Tufts University President, Dr. Lawrence S. Bacow. Bacow will take over for Dr. Drew Gilpin Faust, who is resigning after 11 years at the helm. He will begin in June of this year.

New President Announced at Bentley University

Former Dean of the Ross School of Business at Michigan, Dr. Alison Davis-Blake, has been appointed president of Bentley University. Dr. Davis-Blake will begin in July.

William and Mary Selects First Female Presidet

Current provost of Smith College, Dr. Katherine A. Rowe, has been named the 28^th president at William and Mary. Rowe said, “This is an institution that was founded by a woman as well as a man. It feels right.” She will succeed President W. Taylor Reveley III, who announced his plans to retire in June, 2018.

Bluffton Announces Next President

Dr. Jane Wood has been selected to become the 10^th president of Bluffton University in South Dakota. Wood will take over for Mr. James Harder, who will retire in June. Harder has served the school for the past 12 years.

New President Announced at Chowan University

The Board at Chowan University has named Dr. Kirk Peterson to become the schools 23^rd president. Peterson previously served as president at Urbana University in Ohio. He will begin his tenure on June 1, 2018.

Gordan State Names New President

Dr. Kirk Nooks has been named the next president of Gordon State College in Barnesville, Georgia. Nooks is currently president at Metropolitan Community College Longview in Missouri. He will begin in June.

Miles Davis Appointed President

Dr. Miles Davis has been appointed the 20^th president of Linfield College in McMinnville, Oregon. Currently dean of Shenandoah University’s school of business, Dr. Davis will begin at Linfield College this July.

Lord Fairfax CC appoints New President

Dr. Kim Blosser has been appointed the next president of Lord Fairfax Community College. Blosser previously worked as LFCC’s provost. She is the school’s fifth president and began in early February.

Marymount California Names Board Member President

Current CEO of Titan Oil Recovery Inc. and Board Member, Brian Marcotte, has been named president of Marymount California University. Marcotte was appointed after former president, Lucas Lamadrid was put on leave.

Third President Picked at Pennsylvania CAD

Mr. Michael Molla has been named the next president of Pennsylvania College of Art & Design. Molla is currently VP of strategic initiatives at Maryland Institute College of Art. Molla replaces President Mary Heil, who will retire on July 1^st.

Quinnipiac Selects New President

For the first time in 30 years, Quinnipiac University has named a new president. Dr. Judy D. Olian has been selected to succeed President John Lahey in July. Olian is currently chair of management at UCLA’s school of management.

New President Announced at San Diego State

Adela de la Torre has been named the ninth president of San Diego State University. De La Torre will become the school’s first female president at the end of June.

Union College Picks New Leader

Dr. David Harris has been selected to become the next president of Union College in Schenectady, New York. Harris is currently the provost at Tufts University. He will replace current President Stephen Ainlay, who is retiring at the end of June.

Retirements

Elizabethtown President Retiring

President Carl Strikwerda has announced that he will retire in June of next year. Strikwerda has served as president since 2011. The board will begin looking for the school’s next president in the upcoming months.

Wagner President Announces Retirement

Dr. Richard Guarasci has announced that he will retire from Wagner University after 21 years at the helm. Guarasci will step down in June of 2019.

Retirement at Wentworth Institute

The first female president of Wentworth Institute, Zorica Pantic, has announced that she will retire in May of 2019. Pantic served the school for the past 14 years.

Resignations

Maryland Eastern Shore President to Resign

University of Maryland Eastern Shore President, Juliette Bell, has announced that she will leave her post early in June. Bell has served as president of the school since 2012.

Spokane Falls CC President Resigns

The interim president at Spokane Falls CC has resigned after allegations of sexual harassment. Dr. Darren Pitcher became the schools acting president last summer.

Appointments

Agnes Scott Names New President

Leocadia “Lee” Zak has been named the next president of Agnes Scott College located in Georgia. Zak previously served as director of the U.S. Trade and Development Agency and received a law degree from Northeastern University. She will take over for Elizabeth Kiss, who announced her retirement in June.

Former Wharton Dean Announced as Cleveland State President

Cleveland State has picked Harlan M. Sands to become the school’s next president. Sands is currently vice dean and CFO of the Wharton School at Penn. He will begin his tenure in July with a salary of $455,000.

Johnson College Selects President

The board at Johnson College has named Ms. Katie Leonard to become president of Johnson College. Leonard currently acts as the Executive VP of Johnson. She will begin her roll as president on July 1^st.

Michigan State Appoints Former Governor in Wake of Scandal

Former Governor John Engler has been named as interim president of Michigan State University. The appointment comes in the wake of the Larry Nasser sexual abuse scandal which resulted in former president, Lou Anna Simon’s resignation. Engler will stay as acting president while the board conducts a nationwide search for a replacement.

Saint Michael’s Appoints New President

Dr. Lorraine Sterritt will become the 17^th president of Saint Michael’s College, located in Vermont. Sterritt previously served as dean of administration at Harvard. Dr. Sterritt will take over for President John Neuhauser in July.

Utah Selects Next President

The University of Utah has appointed Dr. Ruth Watkins to become president of the school. Watkins formerly served as the SVP for academic affairs at the school and was unanimously chosen by the board to replace outgoing President David Pershing.

Wiley College Appoints Next President

The Board of Trustees at Wiley College has announced that Dr. Herman Felton Jr. will become the university’s next leader. Felton is currently president of Wilberforce University. He will replace outgoing president, Haywood Strickland, who is retiring in June.

Retirements

College of Charleston President Announces Retirement

Dr. Glenn McConnell will retire as president of the College or Charleston this summer. McConnell has served at the position since 2014, when he became the schools 22^nd president. He cites health and age as the significant factor in his retirement.

Coe to Retire from COTC

Dr. Bonnie Coe has announced her retirement from Central Ohio Technical College. She began her role as president at the college in 2004, and said, “I am confident of COTC’s promising future, an excellent team is in place and…will carry COTC into its next 50 years.” Coe will step down in January of next year.

President Retiring from MCC

After more than 20 years at the helm, Dr. Scott Elliot has announced his retirement from Meridian Community College. He said, “Being part of the MCC family has been the greatest blessing of my 33 years in higher education administration.” Elliot will officially retire in June of this year.

Retirement Announced at Seminole State

Dr. E. Ann McGee has announced her retirement as president of Seminal State College of Florida. She is only the second president in the school’s history and has served there since 1996. Dr. McGee will leave on July 31^st.

Resignations

U of Rochester President Resigns Amid Scandal

President Joel Seligman has resigned as president of the University of Rochester after the release of a report on sexual misconduct on campus. Seligman wrote in an email to campus, “It is clear to me that the best interests of the University are best served with new leadership, and a fresh perspective to focus on healing our campus and moving us forward in the spirit of cooperation and unity.” Dr. Richard Feldman has been announced as the interim president at the school and will begin immediately.

Central Michigan President Announces Retirement

President George Ross has announced he will step down as leader of Central Michigan University. Ross has served the school for the past 8 years, and will leave in July of this year.

Keck Resigns from A & M Commerce

Dr. Ray Keck announced that he will step down as president from Texas A & M University at Commerce in August. Keck has led the school since 2001.

Wight Resigning from Weber State

Dr. Charles Wight will resign from Weber State this June. He announced his resignation this past week and plans to give the Board ample time to find a replacement. He has served as president of Weber State since 2014

Appointments

Arcadia University Names New President

Dr. Ajay Nair has been named the 22^nd president of Arcadia University. Dr. Nair is an Arcadia Alumna who currently serves as senior vice president and dean of campus life at Emory University. Nair will begin as president in April.

Interim President Appointed at Cal. State Fullerton

California State Fullerton has appointed Framroze (Fram) Virjee to become the school’s interim president. Mr. Virjee was previously executive vice chancellor and general counsel for the California State University System Office. He began as interim president on January 1^st, 2018.

Dr. Rick Aman Selected at Eastern Idaho

After a four-month search, the College of Eastern Idaho has picked Dr. Rick Aman to become the school’s president. Aman served as president of Eastern Idaho Technical College prior to the formation of the College of Eastern Idaho.

Interim President Named at Gordon State College

Dr. Stuart Rayfield has been selected to become the interim president of Gordon State College. Rayfield became interim president on January 1^st, following the retirement of former president, Max Burns, in December.

MJ Named President of John Carroll University

Dr. Michael Johnson has been selected to become the next president of John Carroll University. Johnson is currently the provost at Babson College. He will begin his tenure in July, replacing Rev. Robert Niehoff, who announced his retirement last March.

Kirkwood CC Announces New President

Dr. Lori Sundberg will head Kirkwood Community College beginning in August. Sundberg is currently the president of Carl Sandburg College in Illinois. She will take over for Mick Starcevich, who announced his retirement last January.

New President Announced at Limestone College

Dr. Darrell Parker has been introduced as the next president of Limestone College. Parker will take over for Dr. Walt Griffin, who announced his retirement after over 25 years as president. Dr. Parker will begin in this January.

Dr. Hancock Named President of Thomas Edison State

Current SUNY Empire State President, Dr. Merodie Hancock, will become the fourth president at Thomas Edison State University. She will replace Dr. George Pruitt, who announced his retirement last June.

Provost Appointed Interim Chancellor at Western Carolina

Dr. Allison Morrison-Shetlar has been appointed acting chancellor of Western Carolina University. She will take over for Dr. David Belcher, who is on medical leave.

Retirements

Retirement Announced at Broward College

Dr. David Armstrong is retiring as president of Broward College after 10 years at the helm. Armstrong will stay with the school until June of 2018. A national search is currently being performed to find a replacement.

Hagerstown CC President Retires

Dr. Guy Altieri has retired from Hagerstown Community College. Dr. Altieri has served Hagerstown CC since 2002. The school is currently performing an executive search to find a replacement.

Southwestern Illinois President Announces Retirement

Dr. Georgia Costello has announced her retirement as president of Southwestern Illinois College. Costello has served SWIC since 2007, and will formerly leave the school in late June.

President Retiring from the University of Charleston

Dr. Edwin Welch has announced that he will retire from the University of Charleston in June of 2018. Welch has served the school since 1989.

Resignations

Cal State Fullerton President Leaving

Dr. Mildred Garcia has announced her resignation as president of Cal State Fullerton. Garcia has served the school for the past six years and will leave in January of 2018. She said, “This is a pretty bittersweet, emotional day for me.” Garcia will continue her role in higher education as the president of the American Association of State Colleges and Universities in Washington, D.C.

Bowling Green State President Resigns

Dr. Mary Ellen Mazey, president of Bowling Green State, resigned from the university on December 31^st, 2017. Mazey has been at the school for the last seven years.

Olens Resigns from Kennesaw State

Mr. Sam Olens has announced his resignation from Kennesaw State University. His resignation comes on the heels of a cheerleader protest scandal from earlier this year. Olens was appointed in November of 2016.

U of Texas System Chancellor Resigning

William McRaven, the University of Texas System Chancellor, has announced his decision to resign in May of 2018. McRaven previously served in the Navy, where he commanded the group of special forces that killed Osama bin Laden. He has served as Chancellor since 2015.

Appointments

Delaware Sate University Appoints Interim President

The DSU Board of Trustees has selected Dr. Wilma Mishoe to become the next interim president of the university. Mishoe will begin her role in January after current president, Dr. Harry Williams, moves on to lead the Thurgood Marshall College Fund.

DePaul University President Inaugurated

DePaul University, the largest Catholic university in the country, inaugurated its next president on November 19^th. Dr. Gabriel Esteban will oversee 22,769 students as the schools 12^th president. Dr. Esteban was previously the president of Seton Hall University in New Jersey.

New President Named at Ferrum College

Dr. David Johns has been named the next president of Ferrum College. Johns currently serves as VP for academic affairs at Union College in Kentucky. He will begin his tenure in January of next year.

Former Administrator Named President at Fort Hays State

Fort Hays State has announced Dr. Tisa Mason will become the school’s next president. Mason previously served the school as the VP of student affairs for six years until 2014, when she became president of Valley City State University. Dr. Mason received her doctorate in higher education from the College of William and Mary in Virginia.

Ithaca College President Inaugurated

Dr. Shirley Collado has been inaugurated as the ninth president at Ithaca College in New York. Collado is the second female president in the school’s 125-year history and said, “We as educators—not just presidents, but faculty and staff—have this responsibility to teach our students and prepare them to become what (Louis) Brandeis says is the most important role in our society—of being a citizen.”

Kaskaskia College President Resigns, Interim President Named

Mr. George Evans has been appointed by the Kaskaskia College Board to become the school’s interim president. Evans received the title after Dr. Penny Quinn announced that she will resign immediately following a board meeting. Evans will serve as interim president until June 30^th of next year.

Nicholls State University Names Next President

Nicholls State has named Dr. Jay Clune to become the next president of the university. Clune is currently the interim dean of the graduate school at the University of West Florida. He will begin as president in January.

New President Selected at Northern Kentucky University

Dr. Ashish Vaidya has been named the 6^th president at Northern Kentucky University. Vaidya is currently the interim president of St. Cloud State University. Vaidya will begin in July of 2018.

New Mexico Appoints Next President

Dr. Garnnett S. Stokes has been appointed the 22^nd President of the University of New Mexico. Stokes will succeed Interim President Chaouki Abdallah. Dr. Stokes previously served as the interim chancellor at the University of Missouri and will begin her role as president in March of 2018.

Retirements

Boise State President Announces Retirement

President Bob Kustra has announced his retirement as president of Boise State University. Kustra has served the school for the past 14 years. He said, “I think every organization deserves the opportunity every so many years for new leadership and 15 years, I thought, was the perfect point where you just say it’s time.” President Kustra will retire at the end of this academic year in June.

Imperial Valley President to Retire

Dr. Victor Jaime has announced his retirement from Imperial Valley College in California. Jaime has served as president of the college for the past seven years. He will retire at the end of the 2017/18 academic year.

Retirement Announced at PNWU

President Keith Watson will retire from Pacific Northwest University of Health Sciences in June of 2018. Watson served the school for 5 years. A search for Watson’s successor is currently underway.

Resignations

Cal State Fullerton President Leaving

Dr. Mildred Garcia has announced her resignation as president of Cal State Fullerton. Garcia has served the school for the past six years and will leave in January of 2018. She said, “This is a pretty bittersweet, emotional day for me.” Garcia will continue her role in higher education asthe president of the American Association of State Colleges and Universities in Washington, D.C.

Dr. James B. Milliken has announced that he will resign as chancellor of City University of New York. Milliken began his tenure as president in January 2014. He will leave at the end of the 2017/2018 academic year.

Utah Valley President Resigning

The president of Utah Valley University has announced his resignation after nine years. President Mathew Holland will leave the university in June to become the mission president for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Atlantic Cape Community College Inaugurates New President

Dr. Barbara Gaba has been inaugurated as the ninth president of Atlantic Cape Community College located on the Jersey Shore. Gaba is the first female and first African American president of the school. Dr. Gaba previously served as VP for academic affairs at Union County College.

Castleton University Approves Next President

The Board of Trustees at Castleton University has voted unanimously to appoint Dr. Karen Scolforo as the next president of the school. Scolforo previously served as president of Central Penn College. She will take over for Dr. Dave Wolk who announced his retirement after 16 years at the helm.

First Female President Appointed at Elon

Elon University has named Dr. Connie Ledoux to become the school’s next president. Ledoux currently serves as the provost at The Citadel in South Carolina. She will begin her role as the first female president of Elon in March of next year.

Next President Named at Iowa State

Dr. Wendy Wintersteen has been named the 16^th president of Iowa State University. Wintersteen is currently the dean of the school’s college of agriculture and life sciences. Dr. Wintersteen will begin on November 20^th.

Morehouse College Appoints New President

Dr. David A. Thomas has been approved to become the 12^th president of Morehouse College in Atlanta. Thomas is the former dean of Georgetown University’s business school. Dr. Thomas will take over for interim president, Harold Martin Jr., on January 1st of 2018.

New President Starting at New York Chiropractic College

Dr. Michael Mestan has been inaugurated as the next president of New York Chiropractic College. Mestan is the sixth president in NYCC’s history.

Niagara CC Welcomes New Leader

Dr. William Murabito has been named interim president of Niagara Community College. Murabito has over 50 years of experience in the SUNY system. He is expected to serve for the next 12 months or until the next permanent president is chosen.

New President Inaugurated at Sarah Lawrence

Sarah Lawrence College has inaugurated Dr. Cristle Collins Judd as the school’s 11^th president this past week. Collins previously served has the senior program officer for higher education at the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation.

Montana Names Next President

Seth Bodnar has been announced as the 18^th president of the University of Montana. Bodnar is a former Green Beret. If approved by Montana’s Board of Regents, Bodnar will begin his presidency on January 1^st.

Lamkin Announced as President at Westminster College

Westminster College has named Dr. Fletcher Lamkin to become the school’s next president. Lamkin served from 2000-2007 with Westminster as an administrator. Dr. Lamkin will replace Dr. Carolyn Perry, who has been serving as interim president since the resignation of Dr. Benjamin Akande.

Retirements

Albany State President Announces Retirement

Dr. Arthur Dunning has announced that he plans to retire at the end of January 2018. Dunning has served the school since 2013, when he was appointed interim president. He was hired on as the permanent president in 2015.

GCC President Retiring

Greenfield Community College President, Dr. Bob Pura, will retire from the school after 18 years of service. Pura said, “It is now time for me to move on—I think I am ready to graduate.” Pura plans to officially leave the school in June 2018.

Limestone President Set to Retire

After 25 years of leadership at Limestone College, Dr. Walt Griffin has announced his plans to retire. Griffin said, “The thing I will remember most is being involved in the successful college education of probably 10,000 people.” Griffin will leave the school in December of 2017.

UCF President to Retire

After 25 years of leading the University of Central Florida, Dr. John Hitt has announced his retirement. Hitt said, “When we first visited campus, we had a powerful feeling that UCF was a special place. We never could have imagined back then how very special it would become.” Hitt will step down at the end of June 2018.

Retirement Announced at Pitt-Bradford

Dr. Livingston Alexander has announced that he will step down as president of Pittsburgh at Bradford on June 30^th, 2018. He has served the school for the past 14 years.

Resignations

Cape Fear CC President Resigns

Dr. Amanda Lee has announced her resignation from Cape Fear Community College. Lee started at the school as permanent president in 2015. Jim Morton will begin as interim president on January 1^st.

Delaware State University President Out

The President of Delaware State University, Dr. Harry Lee Williams, has decided to leave the school to run the Thurgood Marshal College Fund. Williams has served as president since 2010 and will stay at the school through January.

Alabama State University Names New President

Senator Quinton Ross has been appointed by the board of trustees at Alabama State to become the school’s next president. Ross previously served as a state senator for 15 years. Senator Ross was picked ahead of three other finalists for the job.

Carroll University Appoints Next President

Dr. Cindy Gnadinger will become the first female president at Carroll University. Gnadinger currently serves as an executive consultant at Bellarmine University. She will succeed President Douglas Hastad, who retired in July.

President Named at MGH Institute of Health Professions

MGH Institute of Health Professions has named its 6^th president after a nationwide search. Dr. Paula Milone-Nuzzo will become the new president of the independent graduate school located in Boston. She comes to the institute after serving 14 years at the College of Nursing at Penn State University.

Quinsigamond CC Welcomes New President

Dr. Luis Pedraja has been appointed the next president at Quinsigamond Community College. Pedraja formerly served as the vice chancellor of academic affairs at the Peralta Community College District in California. Dr. Pedraja will be the school’s 6^th president and begins immediately.

Dr. Anderson Appointed at Saddleback College

Saddleback College has named Dr. Gregory Anderson to become the school’s next president. Dr. Anderson previously served in executive roles at california community colleges for the past 12 years. He was voted unanimously by the board after the resignation of former president, Tod Burnnett. Dr. Anderson will begin his tenure as president on October 16^th.

The University of New England Names Next President

Dr. James Herbert has been appointed the next president of the University of New England. He was inaugurated on September 9^th and said, “I am incredibly honored and privileged to have this position at UNE.” Herbert previously served as executive vice provost at Drexel University.

Interim President Appointed at U of Scranton

Reverend Herbert Keller has been named the interim president of the University of Scranton. Keller will serve through the next academic school year, when former president Rev. Scott Pilarz, returns to his former position.

Harvard Dean Named Next UVA President

Mr. James James E. Ryan, current dean of the Harvard Graduate School of Education, has been named the next president at the University of Virginia. Ryan, 50, is a former alumnus from the UVA School of Law—where he finished at the top of his class. He will replace current president, Teresa Sullivan, in June of 2018.

Retirements

Heartland Community College President Announces Retirement

Mrs. Rob Widmer has announced that he will retire from his post as president next year. Widmer has served the school for over 20 years, and began as the VP of business services in 1996. He will retire on June 30^th, 2018.

Retirement announced at Nashville CC

Dr. George Van Allen has announced that he will retire from Nashville State Community College. Dr. Van Allen expanded the school by adding six branch campuses during his tenure at Nashville CC. He will leave the school on December 31^st.

Norfolk State President to Retire

The president of Norfolk State University, Mr. Eddie Moore Jr., has announced that he will retire no later than Dec. 31^st, 2017. The decision, according to Rector Dr. Byron Cherry, “Kind of caught us kind of off guard a little bit.” Moore has served the school since 2013.

Longtime Oklahoma President Set to Retire

Dr. David Boren has announced that he will retire as president at the University of Oklahoma. Boren said he wanted to retire when the university was at maximum strength, and that he feels now is the time to do so. Boren has served the school since 1994. He plans to officially retire on June 30^th, 2018.

Massey Leaving Pitt CC

Dr. Dennis Massey has informed trustees at Pitt CC that he will be retiring at the end of the 2017-2018 academic year. Massey said, “I have been proud to lead a talented group of faculty and staff at PCC.” He has served as the fourth President at Pitt CC since 2003.

Jamestown President to Retire

University of Jamestown President Robert Badal has announced that he will be retiring at the end of February, 2018. Badal has been at the school since 2002, and said he had “the rare chance to take a small but historic institution to a higher level.”

Norton Retiring from the University of Northern Colorado

Ms. Kay Norton has announced that she will retire from the University of Northern Colorado at the end of June, 2018. Norton has served the school for the last 15 years, and is the longest tenured current president of four-year public institutions in Colorado.

Westminster President Retiring

After 18 years serving as Westminster College’s president, Mr. Stephen Morgan has announced that he will retire at the end of 2017-2018 school year. Morgan became the president of Westminster in 2015 and plans to retire next summer.

Resignations

President Resigns from Central Penn

Dr. Karen M Scolforo has resigned as president from Central Penn College. Scolforo served as the school’s ninth president for the last four years. The college cited personal reasons for Dr. Scolforo’s resignation.

Nicholls State President Announces Resignation

Nicholls State University President, Bruce T. Murphy, has announced that he will resign from the school on Dec. 31^st. Murphy served as the school’s 5^th president and was appointed in 2013. The board at Nicholl’s state is currently looking for a successor.

Spokane CC President Resigns, Interim Decided

Ryan Carstens has announced his resignation from Spokane Community college after two years at the school. SCC’s provost, Kevin Brockbank, has been appointed to serve as interim president while a search for a permanent president is performed.

USF St. Petersburg Chancellor Resigns

Dr. Sophia Wisniewska has resigned from the University of South Florida St. Petersburg. Wisniewska served the school for 4 years starting in 2013. USF St. Petersburg is currently under interim leadership.

Austin College Names New President

Austin College has announced that Steven P. O’Day will become the school’s next president. Mr. O’Day currently serves as VP of strategic initiatives at Lebanon College. He will be taking over in October for Interim President Michael Imhoff.

New President Made Permanent at Bennet College

Dr. Phyllis Worthy Dawkins has been named the permanent president at Bennett College in Greensboro. Dawkins previously served as the school’s interim president. She will become the 18^th president at Bennett immediately.

ESCC Announces New President

Enterprise State Community College has selected Matt Rogers to become the school’s new president. The Alabama school announced the decision in early August. Rogers will begin on September 1^st.

New Interim President Appointed at Florida Memorial U

FMU has announced that former Cheyney University President, Dr. Michelle Howard-Vital, will become the university’s new interim president. The board of trustees is conducting a national search for a permanent replacement.

Folsom Lake College Appoints Next President

Mr. Whitney Yamamura has been appointed the third president of Folsom Lake College. Whitney previously served as the interim president of Sacramento City College. He will begin his post immediately.

Kentucky State Elects President

Dr. Christopher Brown II has been elected the next president at Kentucky State University. Dr. Brown will be the 18^th president at the school and replaces Dr. Aaron Thompson, who has served as interim president since May 2016.

Ohio Dominican University Names New President

The Board of Trustees at Ohio Dominican University has announced that Dr. Robert Gervasi will become the school’s 16^th president. Gervasi previously served as the president of Quincy University. He will take over for Dr. Peter Cimbolic, who retired in late June.

Pacifica Promotes from Within

Pacifica Graduate Institute has promoted acting provost, Dr. Joseph Cambray, to become the school’s new president and CEO. Founding president, Dr. Stephen Aizenstate, will serve as Pacifica’s chancellor.

New President at Sacramento City College

The Los Rios Board of Trustees has approved the appointment of Mr. Michael Gutierrez to become the next president at Sacramento City College. Gutierrez will become the first Latino president at the school.

St. Francis College Announces New President

Dr. Miguel Martinez-Saenz has been announced as the 19^th president at St. Francis College. Dr. Martinez-Sainz is currently the provost and VP for academic affairs at Otterbein University. He will begin in September.

New President at St. Joseph’s

St. Joseph’s College has announced the appointment of Dr. Donald Boomgaarden as the school’s next president. Boomgaarden became St. Joseph’s eighth president in early July.

Dr. Ames Named New President of Sage Colleges

The Sage Colleges have picked Dr. Christopher Ames to become the next leader of the college’s three schools. Dr. Sage was previously provost at Shepherd University in West Virginia.

New President Announced at Tusculum College

The Board of Trustees at Tusculum College has named Dr. James Hurley to become the school’s next president. Hurley previously served as president at the University of Pikeville. He will step in for retiring president, Dr. Nancy B. Moody, on October 1^st.

UIW Announces Next President

The University of the Incarnate World has announced Dr. Thomas Evans to become the school’s 10^th president. Dr. Evans previously served as president of Carroll College, in Helena Montana.

Virginia Union Appoints New President

Virginia Union has selected Dr. Hakim J Lucas as its next president. Lucas will become the school’s 13^th president and replaces Joseph F. Johnson, who has been acting president since July of last year. He will begin as president in September.

Retirements

Cal State Bakersfield President to Retire

Dr. Horace Mitchell has announced that he will retire as president from CSUB. He has served as acting president for the past 13 years. Dr. Mitchell plans to retire in June of 2018, allowing time for CSUB to find his successor.

Idaho State University President Retiring

Dr. Arthur Vailas, president of Idaho State, will retire from the school at the end of the academic year. Vailas has served the school for the past 12 years, and was ISU’s 12^th president.

Lewis-Clark State College President Announces Retirement

Dr. Tony Fernandez has announced the date of his upcoming retirement from Lewis-Clark State College. June 17^th, 2018 will be Dr. Fernandez’s last day at the school, after serving as president since March of 2011. Dr. Fernandez said, “What I’m Happy about is the college is in very, very strong hands with the rest of the administration, but especially the faculty and staff.”

President Retiring from Lock Haven University

Dr. Michael Fiorentino Jr. will retire from Lock Haven University in March of 2018. Dr. Fiorentino has served as president since 2011. He said, “It is time for us to shift our focus to spending more time with cherished friends and family and to enjoy the time for new adventures.”

Loyola University New Orleans President Retiring

Rev. Kevin Wildes has penned a letter to the Loyola University community announcing his retirement from the school. He plans to leave office by fall of 2018, upon the appointment of his successor.

Mansield University President Announces Retirement

The president of Mansfield University has announced his plans to retire in June of next year. General Fran Hendricks, who has led the school since 2013, has announced he will step down at the end of this academic year to spend more time with his family. The school will name an interim president to serve after Hendricks’ retirement.

Royce to Retire from Mississippi College

Dr. Lee Royce has announced his retirement from Mississippi College. Dr. Royce has served as president since 2002, and plans to step down in May of 2018.

Otterbein President Retiring

Dr. Kathy Krendl, president of Otterbein University, has announced her plans to retire. Krendl has served as president since July of 2009. She will retire in June of 2018, at the end of the academic year. A search for Krendl’s replacement will begin this fall.

Pennsylvania State System Chancellor to Retire

Mr. Frank T. Brogan, Chancellor of the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education, has notified the board of governors that he plans to retire immediately. Brogan announced his retirement after an internal review, concentrating on the state’s educational system, was released. An interim chancellor will be named after a national search for Brogan’s successor.

Santa Fe CC President Retiring

After four years of serving Santa Fe Community College, Mr. Randy Grissom, has announced his retirement. Grissom has served the school in teaching and administrative positions for the past 22 years. He will retire this October.

Resignations

President Resigns from North Carolina CC System

Dr. James C. Williamson has unexpectedly resigned from the North Carolina Community college System. Williamson served less than a year as president. The Board of Trustees has named current chief of staff, Jennifer Haygood, as interim president.

Tate Resigns from Roanoke Chowan Community College

After 11 months as president of Roanoke Chowan CC, Dr. Jimmy Tate, has resigned from the school. Tate was the eighth president of RCCC. He took over for Dr. Michael Elam, who retired in June of last year.

Benedict College Appoints New President

Dr. Roslyn Clark Artis has been announced as the next president of Benedict College. Dr. Artis will make history by becoming the first woman to lead the school located in Columbia, South Carolina. She will replace Dr. David Swinton in September. Swinton is retiring after 23 years at the school.

Permanent Position for Bennett College President

The board of trustees at Bennett College have appointed Dr. Phyllis Dawkins to become the school’s eighteenth president. Dawkins previously served as interim president, starting last August.

Bishop State CC Names New President

Bishop State has named Dr. Reginald Sykes to become the school’s next president. Dr. Sykes had been the interim president since February 2016. Sykes will begin immediately as the permanent president.

City College of San Francisco Taps New Chancellor

Dr. Mark Rocha has been appointed chancellor of the City College of San Francisco. Rocha was previously the president of Pasadena City College. Rocha is the first permanent chancellor at CCSF since 2015.

Elms College Announces 11^th President

Dr. Harry E. Dumay has been named the next president of Elms College. Dumay was previously the senior vice president for finance and CFO at St. Anslem College. Dr. Dumay replaces Sister Mary Reap, who retired in May.

Cox College Promotes Next President from Within

Dr. Amy DeMelo has been announced as the next president of Cox College in Springfield, Missouri. DeMelo has served as the VP of academic affairs and institutional effectiveness at Cox since 2014. She began as president in late June.

New Erie CC President

Dr. Dan Hocoy has started as president at Erie Community College. Hocoy was announced as the school’s 11^th president earlier this month.

Interim President Named at Kansas City Kansas CC

Dr. Jacqueline Vietti has been chosen by the KCKCC Board of Trustees to become the school’s interim president. Vietti previously served Butler County Community College as the school’s president. Former president, Doris Givens, was placed on administrative leave in mid-July.

Treadwell Appointed Interim President at Keene State College

Dr. Melinda Treadwell will begin as Keene State College’s interim president on July 31^st. Treadwell replaces Dr. Anne E. Huot, who announced her resignation in June. Treadwell previously served as provost at Keene State college and has a doctorate from Dartmouth.

Lake Superior State Announces Interim President

The board of trustees at Lake Superior State University have tapped Dr. Peter T. Mitchell to begin as interim president. Mitchell replaces Dr. Thomas Pleger, who passed away in May. Dr. Mitchell previously served as president of Albion college for 10 years, from 1997-2007.

Metropolitan CC-Penn Valley Names New President

Dr. Tyjaun Lee has been announced as the next president of Metropolitan Community College-Penn Valley. Dr. Lee will take over for Dr. Seabrooks who left the school in July 2016. Lee is expected to begin in early August.

Morehouse Alum Takes Over as Interim President

Harold Martin Jr. will step in as interim president at Morehouse College in Atlanta, Georgia. Martin is a graduate of Morehouse College, and joined the school’s board in 2014. Martin takes over for William Taggart, who passed away in June.

Interim President Named at Northeast State CC

Mr. James King has taken over as interim president at Northeast State Community College. King previously served as Executive Vice Chancellor for the Tennessee Board of Regents. He began his tenure July 1^st following the retirement of Dr. Janice Gilliam.

Dr. Medica Promoted at Penn State Schuykill

Dr. Darcy Medica has been named Penn State Shuykill’s next president. Medica is currently the director of academic affairs at the school. She will begin her tenure on August 1^st.

Research College of Nursing Announces Next President

Dr. Thad Wilson has been named the next president of the Research College of Nursing in Kansas City. Wilson replaces Nancy Debasio, who retired after 28 years at the school.

RIT President to Begin Tenure

Dr. David C. Munson has started as Rochester Institute of Technology’s 10^th president. Munson replaces Dr. Bill Destler, who retired in June. Dr. Munson previously served as the dean of engineering at Michigan.

Dr. Eighmy Named President of UT- San Antonio

The Board of Regents for the University of Texas System has named Dr. Taylor Eighmy as the next president at the University of Texas at San Antonio. Eighmy currently serves at UT-Knoxville as the school’s vice chancellor for research and engagement. He will begin as president in September.

Retirements

Bethune-Cookman President Announces Early Retirement

Dr. Edison O. Jackson, president of Bethune-Cookman University, as announced his early retirement from the school. Jackson’s retirement comes after 2 years of operating at a loss and a controversial dorm project. Johnson has served the school since 2012.

Wiley College President Retiring

Dr. Haywood L Strickland has announced that he will retire from Wiley College in Marshall, Texas. Strickland said, “I’m getting old.” Dr. Strickland is the longest serving president in Wiley’s history with 18 years at the helm. He will retire at the end of the next academic year.

Resignations

Briar Cliff President Resigns

Dr. Hamid Shirvani has announced his resignation from Briar Cliff University. Shirvani began as the school’s 10th president in 2016. He cited “a combination of family, personal and professional considerations” as the reasons for leaving.

Shaw University President Leaving for Position at Howard

President of Shaw University, Dr. Tashni-Ann Dubroy, has left the school to become the executive VP and chief operating officer at Howard University. Dubroy served as president of Shaw for two years.

Chancellor Announces Resignation from UH-Hilo

Dr. Donald Straney has announced his decision to resign as chancellor from the University of Hawaii at Hilo. Straney is leaving for a position in the UH System as VP of academic planning and policy. He plans to resign on August 1^st.

Evansville President to Resign

The University of Evansville’s president, Dr. Thomas Kazee, has announced he will leave the school in May of 2018. Kazee has served the school for the past 8 years.

Bergen Community College Appoints Interim President

Michael Redmon has been appointed as the interim president at Bergen CC. The change comes after trustees at the school voted to fire former president, Kaye Walter, after six years at the school. Redmon is a former college administrator at schools in Florida and Indiana.

Cheney University Names Interim President

Cheney University has announced that Mr. Aaron A. Walton will become the school’s interim president. Walton will take over for Frank G. Pogue, who has been interim president since November 2014.

Great Basin College Appoints Next President

A new president has been appointed at Great Basin College. Ms. Joyce Helens was picked out of three finalists to take over at the school. Helens was previously president of St. Cloud Technical and Community College in Minnesota. She will begin August 1^st.

New President Named at Jackson State University

Dr. William Bynum Jr. has been named the next president at Jackson State University by the school’s Board of Trustees. The move is controversial because Bynum was not one of the three initial finalists for the position. Bynum is currently the president of Mississippi Valley State University and will begin in July.

Labette Community College Announces Next President

Mr. Mark Watkins has been named the new president at Labette Community College. Watkins is currently the Dean of Instruction at Labette. He will begin as president immediately.

Lane CC President to Take Office

Lane Community College has a new President in office, Dr. Margaret Hamilton. Hamilton was previously the VP of academic affairs at Camden County College in New Jersey. Dr. Hamilton replaces Mary Spilde, who retired in June.

Permanent Position for Chancellor at Louisiana Delta Community College

Dennis Epps has been approved by Louisiana Delta CC’s Board to become the school’s permanent Chancellor. Mr. Epps has served as interim Chancellor since 2005.

MCC-Kansas City Announces New Chancellor

Dr. Kimberly Beatty has been named the 8^th chancellor at Metropolitan Community College Kansas City. Beatty is currently serving as vice chancellor for instructional services and chief academic officer at Houston Community College. Dr. Beatty will replace Mark S. James, who retired at the end of June.

New President Announced at Moreno Valley College

Dr. Robin Steinbeck has been named the new president at Moreno Valley College. Steinbeck is currently the school’s vice president of academic affairs, and will take over as acting president on July 1^st.

Interim President Appointed at Prairie View A & M

A new interim president has been named at Prairie View A &M. Dr. Ruth Simmons will take over the job on July 1^st. Simmons was the first ever black president of an Ivy League school, serving Brown University up until 2012. Prairie View’s longtime president, George Wright, said he was stepping down to concentrate on teaching.

St. Cloud Technical College Names Interim President

Ms. Lauri Kloos will become the interim president of St. Cloud Technical and Community College on August 1^st. Kloos is currently the vice president of administration and CFO at the school. She will replace Joyce Helens, who has accepted the presidential position with Great Basin College in Nevada.

Shawnee CC Selects Alumna as Next President

The SCC Board of Trustees has picked Dr. Peggy F. Bradford to become the school’s eighth president. Bradford attended Shawnee Community College, and earned her doctorate from Northern Illinois University. She replaces Tim Bellamy, who retired in April.

Slippery Rock University Names Interim President

The Slippery Rock Board of Governors has selected Phillip K. Way, current provost and VP for academic affairs, to become the next acting president at the school. Mr. way is replacing Cheryl Norton, who retired as president in June.

St. Petersburg College Promotes from Within

Dr. Tonjua Williams has been announced as the next president at St. Petersburg College in Florida. Williams is currently senior vice president of student services and has worked at the school for 30 years. She will replace Dr. Bill Law, who retired at the end of June.

First Latino President Named at SUNY Albany

Dr. Havidan Rodriguez has been announced as the next president at SUNY Albany. Rodriguez is currently the provost and executive vice president for academic affairs at the University of Texas at Rio Grande Valley. Rodriguez will begin his post in September.

Interim President Receives Permanent Position at Maine-Augusta

Dr. Rebecca Wyke has been appointed the new president at the University of Maine at Augusta. Wyke previously served as the school’s interim president in 2015. She replaces Dr. James Conneely, who resigned suddenly in April.

New President Announced at The University of St. Thomas

Dr. Richard Ludwick has been named the next president at The University of St. Thomas. Dr. Ludwick was previously the president of the Independent Colleges of Indiana. Ludwick will succeed Dr. Robert Ivany, who retired in June.

Washington College Appoints Next President

Washington College has announced that Mr. Kurt M. Landgraf will become the school’s new president. Landgraf will begin on July 1^st following the resignation of former president, Ms. Sheila Blair.

Retirements

Bluffton University President to Retire in 2018

Dr. James M. Harder has announced that he plans to retire in June of next year. Harder has served the university since 2006, and created 14 new academic programs at the school in that time.

Carteret Community College President Retires

Dr. Kerry Youngblood has retired from Carteret CC. Youngblood said at his last meeting, “Thank you all for what a privilege it’s been.” Dr. John Hauser will replace Youngblood as the school’s president on July 3^rd.

Northeast State Community College President Announces Retirement Amid Investigation

Dr. Janice Gilliam has announced her immediate retirement from Northeast State CC. The announcement comes on the heels of an investigation by the Tennessee Board of Regents into Gilliam and the school.

Retirement Announced at Thomas Edison State

Dr. George A. Pruitt has announced that he will retire in December of 2017. Pruitt has served the school since 1982. He said, “Serving as president of this wonderful university has been the single, greatest privilege of my professional life.”

Ventura County CC President to Retire

The interim president of Ventura County CC will retire on June 30^th. Dr. Bernie Luskin has served the school since May 2015, and will be honored with a ceremony.

Resignations/Firings

Bentley President Stepping Down

Dr. Gloria C. Larson, president of Bentley College, has announced that she will step down in late June of 2018. Larson has been at the school for over a decade. “It has been the highest honor of my long and varied career to serve as Bentley’s 7^th president,” she said.

Carnegie Mellon President Resigns

Dr. Subra Suresh resigned from Carnegie Mellon College on June 30^th. Suresh has served CMU for the past four years. Current provost and chief academic officer, Dr. Farnam Jahanian, has stepped in as interim president.

Clarion University President Leaving after Next Year

Dr. Karen Whitney has announced that she will step down at the end of the next academic school year. She has been president of Clarion University since 2009.

Ferrum President Fired after One Year

Ferrum Board of Trustees have announced that Dr. Joseph Spooner has been released from his contract at the school. Spooner was at the school for less than a year. Chris Burnley, vice president for business and finance, will serve on an interim basis.

Harvard President Stepping Down

The President of Harvard University has announced that she will resign at the end of the next academic year. Drew Gilpin Faust has served the school since the summer of 2007. She is the first female president of the school.

Resignation at Keene State College

Dr. Anne E. Huot has announced that she will resign as the school’s president on July 31^st, 2017. “It has been a privilege to serve this great college,” she said. Huot plans to stay at the school as a biology professor.

Firing at Luna Community College

Dr. Leroy Sanchez has been fired from his position as president at Luna Community College. Sanchez started at the school in 2015. The school’s hiring practices have been questioned since Sanchez has been president.

Motlow State President Resigns

The president of Motlow State Community College has resigned. The resignation comes on the eve of an audit that accused President Tony Kinkel of using “fear and intimidation” while leading the college. Kinkel has been president at the school since August 2015.

Northern Illinois University President Resigns

President Doug Baker Resigned in mid-June after an investigation concluded that he had bypassed bidding requirements when hiring consultants there. Baker denied any wrongdoing. He began as president in 2013.

Chancellor Fired at Oakland Community College

Oakland CC president, Dr. Timothy Meyer, has been fired from the school. Meyer is still employed by the school, however Peter Provenzano is now the interim chancellor.

Oklahoma State at Oklahoma City President Resigns

President Natalie Shirley has announced that she will resign at the end of December, 2017. Shirley has been president of the school since 2011. A national search is currently underway to choose a new president.

Johnson Fired from Tuskegee University

Dr. Brian L. Johnson has been dismissed as president from Tuskegee University. The school has been struggling financially with long-term debt. Johnson was the seventh president at the school.

Urban Resigns from West Shore Community College

Dr. Kenneth Urban has resigned as president from West Shore CC after two years at the helm. Board of Trustees Chairman, Bruce Smith said, “We came to the decision mutually.” VP of Administrative Services, Scott Ward, will serve as the interim president.

Iowa Board of Regents Elects New President:

Dr. Michael Richards has been unanimously elected to serve as the next president of the Iowa Board of Regents. Dr. Richards will become the 22^nd president of the Iowa Board immediately.

University of Missouri Names New Chancellor:

The University of Missouri has named Dr. Alexander Cartwright as the school’s new chancellor. Cartright is currently the provost and executive vice chancellor of the State University of New York School System. He will begin at Missouri on August 1st.

Utah President David Pershing Resigning:

Dr. David Pershing has announced that he will resign. The resignation comes amid turmoil over a power play for control of the Huntsman Cancer Institute after the sudden firing—then reinstatement—of the institute’s director and CEO, Mary Beckerle. Preparations for the search of a successor are currently underway.
